4 Careers That Will Not Be Taken Over By AI

by Allen Kenzo

With AI taking over almost every industry, it’s not a surprise that it has created concerns within the job market. From supermarkets to marketing jobs, AI has and will continue to take over jobs in the future. This is where the importance of entering a field that has a strong future is evident, as it helps to future-proof you and your career in sectors such as transport training.

But with AI taking over so many job roles, it’s hard to know where to turn to when it comes to going into your first career or finding a new job role, as you not only want to enjoy your career but also be in it well into the future.

1.   Healthcare

Firstly, job roles that will not be taken over by AI in the future are healthcare roles. Jobs such as nurses, therapists and caregivers really rely on physical presence and human interaction. Professionals in these roles are required to have a lot of empathy and make important decisions that AI couldn’t achieve. For example, caring for poorly children and making them laugh to cheer them up is only something that can be done by a human.

Overall, these jobs create the foundation of society as there will always be a need for nurses and doctors, with there being a great demand for these roles all around the world, meaning that they will never be taken over by AI.

2.   Skilled trades and hands-on specialists

Another job that will not be taken by AI in the future is skilled trade jobs and hands-on specialists. This includes jobs such as electricians, plumbers, and HGV drivers, who require physical ability which can not be replicated by automation. Not only do these jobs require real-world problem-solving, as you can not predict what issues may arise, but also persuasive skills, as many handmen need to liaise with clients to find out what they want and to understand their issues.

To enter roles such as these, you need to enter some kind of training, which can be done through an apprenticeship, in college or at a private training school such as hgv adr training.

3.   Creative roles

Creative roles that rely on original thoughts and ideas, as well as emotional expression, need human feelings and experiences. Designers, writers and artists draw from life experiences and human touches, which is impossible to create with AI, as computer automation can not come up with original ideas or authentically replicate.

This means that creative roles will always be in demand; however, those in these roles must differentiate theirselves and create portfolios that show personal flair.

4. Leadership and strategic roles

Positions that involve complex and deep decision-making are real tasks that are not going to be taken over by AI. The ethical judgment that is required for these roles can only be weighed up by a professional with experience and emotional intelligence. In addition, the people skills that are required to guide staff and other professionals require human insight and conversation that goes beyond the abilities of AI.
